ArrowFAQs : Programme content
How do you choose your speakers and do you pay them to speak?

We do our utmost to ensure a diverse, challenging and experienced number of speakers on each of our programmes. We invite top leaders from all sectors to share their personal experiences of leadership, under the Chatham House Rule. We are grateful to everyone who accepts our invitation to speak, not only for their honesty and wisdom, but also for giving their time for free. We do not pay any of our speakers or facilitators, nor the experienced individuals who chair each programme.

What does a typical programme consist of and what’s included in it?

A Windsor Leadership Programme begins on Monday around lunchtime and a Newly Appointed Strategic Leaders Programme begins on Tuesday around lunchtime. They both end around Friday lunchtime. The Developing Strategic Leaders Programme runs for three days and the Experienced Strategic Leaders Programme runs for two. During this time the days are divided between group discussions in small syndicates of about seven people, Leadership Insights both from keynote speakers and from the participants themselves, speaker review sessions, and reflection time.

On the final evening of the Windsor Leadership Programme and Newly Appointed Strategic Leaders Programme we hold a formal dinner to which we invite people who are keen to learn more about our programmes. This provides them with an opportunity to find out more information, first-hand, from those people taking part – and for the participants to question the guests about leadership in their own organisations.

Are you just UK orientated or do you have an international input?

Senior leaders are increasingly operating at a global level, and we try to acknowledge this through our programmes. Many of the organisations represented are international or multi-national. In addition, we try to engage speakers with an international perspective as part of our programmes.

The Trust also runs its programmes abroad. In 2009,the Windsor Leadership Programme was run in Hong Kong in collaboration with the SWIRE Group. This is an unique opportunity is for those aspiring strategic leaders based in the Asia-Pacific region to join our flagship programme.
